OK, I've been to show these before, but my younger brother has never been. We were driving by in Tennessee coming back from visiting my sister at Virginia and I saw Shoney's and I went. I wanna go for breakfast. He was up for it. He didn't realize it was a buffet. And this one was amazing, the other shoney's i've been to is in Louisiana. And it was amazing as well. But this one was hands-down the best one I've ever been to. My waitress was amazing, she kept our tea filled. That's one of the things we missed from Virginia was iced tea. And she made sure we had our fill of it. It was awesome. The biscuits were so light and fluffy, everything all the casseroles. The eggs were my only complaint they were liquid eggs, but that can be forgiven. The bacon was perfect, their home fries were delicious, the casseroles seriously there was one that was cornbread, jalapeño Yum. Needless to say, we stuffed ourselves silly. I have never seen my brother eat four plates of anything, he is normally very conscious about his weight and his portion control. But he lost all control today. I'm myself at two plates. It was so so tasty we are Looking forward to our next trip to see our sister just to stop at this particular shoneys

This was my first time at a Shoney's and it reminded me of a typical Maine restaurant where you could order a diner style meal and then walk up to the salad bar while you wait for the meal to arrive. Kind of reminded me of a Heartland or King's Court. For those familiar with those two restaurants in the Lewiston, ME area, I am aging myself. The salad bar had more than just your typical salad ingredients as it contained hot foods too. Apparently they have an all you can eat buffet that I had not considered. I indulged in their homemade chicken tenders which you can never go wrong with. With some hand cut fries and coleslaw I had a plentiful meal along with my salad. My wife had a mushroom Swiss burger which she enjoyed and had no complaints about. The tables have what appears to be butcher paper to keep the tables clean. Kids can write, color and draw on the paper while they are waiting for their food to arrive. Staff was very friendly and you got to experience some nice southern hospitality.

It had been a long time since I had visited a Shoney's restaurant, but my husband was craving breakfast, so we visited this location on a Saturday afternoon. The place was quite busy! We were seated quickly and decided upon the food bar. There was still breakfast, as well as salad, soup, fried chicken, veggies, etc. The food was very good, and my husband was happy to have a chance to eat a late breakfast. I had soup, salad, and some items from the hot bar. We both enjoyed our meals, but I did notice that it took quite a while for empty tables to be cleared of the dirty dishes, and we also sat a while after we finished before we were able to get our check. But with a good selection of food, I would be happy to return again.

I had about an hour to kill while in the area so I decided to stop in. I was greeted & seated by Amanda (who was also training a new hire) She immediately took my order (without writing anything down or typing anything into an electronic device) My food came out quicker than expected and it was exactly what I ordered! As I ate, I observed Amanda working the restaurant like no other (all while training someone) It's truly refreshing to receive Customer Service like that in this day of time! Shoney's will always be one of my FAVORITE restaurants to dine in! I can only pray that this location stays around and continue to employ GREAT staff!

After a snowbound day in our hotel, we ventured out and found this Shoney's open. (Most businesses were closed due to snow and ice yesterday.) The crowd wasn't bad, but people were getting out and about again and getting hungry! I took off one star due to them only serving the food bar and not menu items, plus only taking credit/debit cards. The food bar was fresh and delicious. Everything was cooked like it should have been, and I was delighted to find some old favorites - cubed potatoes, white gravy, sausage links, complete salad makings, and that good potato soup that I remember from years ago. They were a little understaffed, but that was understandable due to the weather.

As I sit here, letting my food digest, while also continuing to shovel it into my mouth, I figured I'd write this one while it's still fresh in my belly and getting cold on my fork. I wasn't particularly hungry, having only at lunch five hours ago, I would have thought I had an appetite hidden somewhere. I didn't, but my mama didn't raise no quitter. I've never been to a Shoney's before, but I remember listening in on my granpaw, all liquored up, as he would recall stories of the local Shoney's to my pa. When I walked in, it felt like home. It felt like I've been in every one this side of the Mississippi. Then I remembered I'm from the north, so it was highly unlikely. The best way I can describe this place is that it's the bastard child of an Applebees and Bob Evans. It's as if Denny's had a glow up. Imagine Perkins, but hanging out with the cool kids. The interior had basic Restaurant Interior Photographs™; a staircase, a bench, the curved tops of some windows. All sepia. Booths and tables galore. Even a bar area. 10/10 I swear I've been in one of these. Since I wasn't hungry, but didn't want to look like a fool, I ordered the baked spaghetti with garlic bread. I wanted something different than chicken, burgers, or fish. I also didn't have milk for one day and was getting jittery, so I ordered a milk, tall. Just kidding, they only have one size of milk. And it's tall. Spaghet came out looking delicious. I garbled it down. Like a gentleman of course. I'm staring at my two slices of garlic bread, unsure if I'm going to eat them. This meal also comes with two sides, but I had to decline, mostly because I wasn't super hungry and yet was preparing to fit one entire plate of sketti into my stomach. Ultimately, it looks like this: 10/10 spaghetti 11/10 bringing garlic toast home 10/10 milk 11/10 milk with straw
